Don't you want to pick a great college? Of course you do! Everybody wants to get as much as possible out of their college experience and that starts before you consolidate federal student loan. The following are some tips on how to pick a great college, as well as some things that you should look out for. This should be a great time of your life. Don't make a mistake on which college to pick!

Two or Four Years

A lot of people do not know of all the great opportunities a 2 year school can offer them. If you know what degree you want and have everything squared away, then a 4 year school is right up your alley. 2 year schools can help you though because they are cheaper then 4 year schools. You can also take these few years to figure out what degree you want to pursue, while even working on your overall G.P.A. Do not turn your nose up at a 2 year college. You might find that it is something that you can really benefit from before you move on.

In State

For a lot of people the college dream consists of going out of state and getting away to start your new life. This is such a great goal and if possible would be a great idea! Did you know that there is a large difference between tuition for in state schools compared to out of state schools? There are some instances when you can save thousands of dollars for an education that might not be much different then going out of state. What is your desired degree? If the degree does not require a special school, then you might want to look to stay in state and save some money.

Your Desired Major

Speaking of your degree, here is the next tip! You want to maximize your ability to get the best education for your degree possible. You may really want to go that Ivy League school, but do they cater to your degree? There might be some other school that is better suited for your educational desires elsewhere. This way you know you are getting the best education you can for your desired field. You may want to go somewhere sunny, or some place with a great football team, but we urge you to also think about where you can get the best education.
